Loved the way it looked. Loved all the sisal rope, leaves and materials. It needs at least a 3 foot square base for the cat tree however, a 2 foot circle is way too unstable for it's heigth 75 inches, especially if large kitty is trying to get to the top. The condo would have tipped over if I wasn't there to watch my cat try it out. This brings me to the next point. Large cats like maine coons, ragdolls, manx and kitties of a portly nature are going to have difficulty with the too small crawl holes and the outside climb to top platform and space under the top platform. The half circle platforms are way too small for large cat to lay in, it's about 8 to 9 inches in length. My big boy can only sit in it. Because of the unstableness of the condo, I removed the middle portion since it's modular, and placed the top platform in place of middle platform. Condo stability increased greatly. I will keep it because I like the look, but part is wasted getting it to work for my large kitties. I hope makers will take note and make changes. It's ok, but could be so much more.

This is a great looking cat tower, and our kitten loves it so far. She is too little to reach all the levels yet but enjoys it just the same. We also have a 20 year old cat so I like that it has a little "den" at the bottom (which is also good for stability). It seems pretty sturdy, which is good since our kitten is a ragdoll and could get a little large. It is covered with fleecy-type fabric that is soft to the touch and the posts are tightly wrapped with dyed rope. It was very easy to put together considering it came with very rudimentary illustrated instructions, and it took me about 45 minutes to set it up (you'll need a footstool unless you are extremely tall). I wasn't going to put the leaves on it, but they actually look pretty good and our kitten likes to play with them (she eventually pulled them all off, and it looks just fine without the leaves too). All in all, I'd say it's a good buy if you are looking for something that doesn't have a large footprint and looks nice in your living room.

update 2/2013 - our kitten is now 9 months old and the tree does sway a bit as she scrambles to the top, but not so much that we have attached it to the wall yet. She LOVES being up high on the top "shelf" of the tree and sleeping in the upper hammock, and I think that this was one of the most worthwhile things I have ever bought for a pet - she gets so much enjoyment from it and we love that she hasn't scratched the couch or carpet since we set it up. It seems to be holding up well, although at some point I'll have to recover the hammocks as the fabric is just starting to wear thin in a few places.

As our cats started to grow, seemingly overnight, we knew we had to get something bigger and better and fast. We bought the Tasmania tree because it seemed sturdy and looked better than the dull/plain cat trees that everyone else is selling.

Long story short, nearly a year later and the cats still use it. There are a couple drawbacks however:

1. We had to put weights at the bottom of the tree because our cats are crazy and without the weights they would have toppled it. A wider based would be the easiest fix but this one falls short in that arena.
2. The vines will be ravished within 24hrs so beyond the "out-of-box" aesthetics, they're useless
3. After tons of abuse, the fabric is starting to give way. HOWEVER, it still doesn't look too bad considering.

PROS:

Easy to set up. Very straight forward procedure and its actually a very steady and solid piece of furniture
The cats love it and if they love we love it! :)

Definitely recommend it. Especially if you have ONE cat. we have TWO and it works well but it might be better for a single cat in my humble opinion.

Such a shame, because it looks really cool assembled - but it's just not stable. I have 2 small 9 lb cats, and believe me they are good climbers and very agile! Once they finally got up it - they couldn't get on top because there was nothing for them to grip or jump off of to get to it. They also had trouble coming back down through the small holes. In the end I had to return it, but if they ever work out the stability kinks, I would love to have a cat tree that looks just like this!

The top platform was hard to get to, so i off set it. I just used 3 legs, I was only able to get 2 of the screw holes to match up, I was going to drill a new hole for the 3rd one but it seems solid enough the way it is. So if you do this, it is a perfect cat tree.

I love the way the mansion looks, it looks like another decorative furniture. Feet's in small corner. My cat loves it, unfortunately she doesn't climb all the way to the top. I wish the top layer was standing on one leg less. Had a semicircular opening with easy access to the last layer. There is no easy way for a cat to climb to the top, and that's were my cat loves to be and observe the world.

Reasonably easy to assemble (though I seem to have gotten someone else's missing parts).

We got this for our playful kittens, who have grown into one enormous cat and one very tiny cat. The small cat can make it up onto the top shelf fairly easily, leaving the larger cat behind. He tries to follow her, and occasionally makes it, but it would have been nice to give him a way up.

The other issue is the stability of the base. Small cat jumping around? No problem. Large cat jumping around? That thing sways. So far it hasn't tipped over, but mostly because we have it wedged against the wall.

Small cat would give this thing a billion stars. She loves it, spends much of her time in it, sleeping and playing. Large cat would say three stars.
